The UnXplained Tours tell the story of the Strange Phenomena happening at Board Camp Crystal Mine.  During the first 2-hour “Daylight” tour, ALL Visitors will tour the area where MUFON investigated and Josh Gates filmed “Expedition Unknown: Hunt for Extraterrestrials“.  Visitors will view additional astounding images and videos such as those seen on Board Camp Crystal Mine’s YouTube channel!  (See the top of this webpage and click on the links to view these videos!)  If visitors choose the 4-hour “Night Watch” tour, they will remain to stay after dark and have an opportunity to experience the phenomena for themselves!

Since 2012, Orville & Cheryl Murphy have operated Board Camp Crystal Mine. The Murphys only mine with hand tools, not using heavy equipment.  They never conducted commercial mining because they wanted to retain the natural beauty and energy of the land. The mine is open to the public to enjoy true old-time rock-hounding,  digging for their own crystals in the actual veins of quartz in the earth!  The Murphys enjoyed sharing this beautiful venue with their visitors, until suddenly their lives changed forever.  As the Murphys describe it,  “We are just normal people who suddenly had a paranormal experience.”   Here’s what happened:

On the night of February 18, 2017, they experienced their first “paranormal” sighting literally in their own back yard. They and their adult son, Josh White, witnessed the appearance of 3 large columns of bright white light in the crystal mine, seeming to shoot up about 300 feet into the night sky. The beams lasted about 10 seconds, then disappeared. The witnesses were stunned and wondered who or what could have caused such huge beams of light on their rural property when nothing was there except woods and pasture.

The next morning, upon investigating the site, they found astonishing evidence left behind, which attracted the attention of both MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) and Josh Gates, host of Travel Channel’s “Expedition Unknown” who filmed an investigation at the mine. Other types of phenomena began to manifest, including orbs, rock levitation, various celestial and terrestrial sightings, attracting the attention of Native Americans, metaphysical and spiritual leaders, and investigative scientists.  It was suggested to the Murphys to open the “Event Site” to the public. The “UnXplained Tours” were created in August of 2017, to allow the public access to an active site with a chance to experience the phenomena for themselves! 

The Murphys discovered by going public, they weren’t the only ones who experienced the “UnXplained”!  Many visitors, including local residents, shared their own amazing stories about strange sightings, with the Murphys! Obviously, most people who experience such things, don’t share with others, for fear of being ridiculed! It’s nice to find others who you can talk to, and will understand and BELIEVE YOU!

Board Camp Crystal mine is a truly a unique venue because it offers public access, whereas most venues reporting anomalies are on private property. The phenomena CONTINUES to this day, now witnessed by hundreds of visitors! Of course, there is no guarantee that any visitor might experience phenomena… the phenomena doesn’t come with an on/off switch!  So… COME SEE FOR YOURSELF!  (Dig for crystals during the day, then enjoy the tour at night!)

Skeptics are welcome! The Murphys were skeptics too, before their experience!  Come with an open mind and please be respectful!  The Murphys respect others’ faith and life views.  In their own Christian faith, they found comfort regarding the unexplained phenomena, through a teaching by Dr. Billy Graham titled, “The Mysteries of God” which can be found online.  Quoting from Dr. Graham: “All of the garnered wisdom of the ages is only a scratch on the surface of man’s search for the knowledge of the universe. For the most part, God retains His secrets, and man standing on his intellectual tiptoes, can comprehend only a small fraction of the Lord’s doings. WHAT TO EXPECT, BRING, & WEAR, ETC…    THE TOUR START TIME WILL BE STATED ON YOUR TICKET!  PLEASE NOTE!

The 2-hour “Partial” Tour (conducted in daylight) is the first half of the “Full” Night Watch Tour.  Visitors will walk (or drive) about 600 feet on a dirt and gravel path up a slight grade to the “Event Site” which is located in the WOODS. The remainder of the Tour, which is a media presentation, is held at the covered Crystal Stage, where visitors will be seated.  After the presentation, the 2-hour tour group will be excused, and the Night Watch will begin.

• Although the tour starts later in the day, you may need sunscreen, particularly in summer.  Insect repellent is a MUST! 
• Bring your own ice chest if you like, with snacks and NON-alcoholic drinks. No food is sold on-site.
• We do offer one complementary bottle of water for each guest!
• For “Full” Night Tours, bring your own easy-to-carry folding chair. You may bring non-invasive research equipment. Bring a FLASHLIGHT!
• DRESS FOR THE WEATHER! Wear sturdy, walking shoes or boots in case of rain!  Please NO open-toed sandals. We WILL host the Tour in light rain, so bring umbrellas or rain gear.  During the cold, wear a heavy coat, gloves and bring a lap blanket!  (Some people pick up something to wear at our local thrift stores!)
• Bring a fully charged camera and/or cell phone to take photos!  Bring extra camera batteries and chargers. Sometimes, electronic devices lose their charge during the tour! We were told this has something to do with the energy from the crystals. We provide a charging station to recharge your electronics if needed.
• Bring your QUESTIONS and your own story to share (as time permits)!
• Bring an OPEN MIND ready to learn something new!

WHAT YOU MAY NOT BRING:

1. Sorry, No one under age 10 for Day Tours. No one under age 18 for Night Tours. We set these age limits due to the mature content of the presentation. 
2. Sorry, No pets permitted due to the close proximity of our guests. Only service animals are allowed.
3. No weapons! If you carry under permit, please leave your weapon in your vehicle.
4. No alcohol, drugs, or medical marijuana. Anyone showing up and determined to be under the influence by management, will be referred to the county sheriff’s office.
5. While we respect everyone’s beliefs, we choose to remain neutral in a public forum and take a scientific approach to the phenomena. We request no ritualistic behavior or tools used, such as Ouija boards, skulls, chanting, calling, etc.
6. Skeptics are welcome!  Before all this happened, we were skeptics too!  But do not bring an attitude of belittling, belligerence, foul language or rudeness.  Thank you for respecting others’ beliefs and experience.

UNXPLAINED TOURS NEED TO KNOW:

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Your purchase of tickets for any event held at Board Camp Crystal Mine, indicates that you have read the following, understand and agree. Upon arrival on site, all persons age 18 and up will be required to read and sign a “Use Agreement and Release of Liability” form. We want everyone to have a SAFE and ENJOYABLE visit, and that is why we need everyone to FOLLOW the RULES! Thank you!

1. Before you arrive, if you purchased your ticket online, bring your E-ticket or printed ticket with you. Cell service is sketchy here, so DOWNLOAD your E-ticket BEFORE you show up!  Taxes and fees are included in your paid ticket price.  TOUR START TIME WILL BE STATED ON YOUR TICKET! PLEASE NOTE!
2. When you arrive at our GPS address, please follow the Tour Signs to the Parking Area, and walk to check in at the Crystal Stage! Please call us if you have limited mobility.
3. Arrive at least 10 minutes EARLY!  We need to start ON TIME!  Anyone arriving 15 minutes later than the start time will have to reschedule, because the Gate will close!
4. This is a rain or shine event! NO cancellations unless of forecast of severe weather.
5. Dress for the WEATHER!  Wear good walking shoes.  Bring an umbrella.  We will tour even in light rain or temps in the 40s.
6. You MUST sign a release of liability form when you arrive, or you will be excused.
7. REFUND POLICY: Refunds may be issued especially in the event of severe weather. Please CALL ahead if you can’t make it, 479-243-0771, for a refund or to reschedule another tour. Once you arrive, no refund will be issued after the first 20 minutes. Your visit past 20 minutes indicates you are satisfied with your experience. A partial refund may be given in case of the advent of severe weather which may shorten your intended visit. Or apply it toward a crystal piece from our shop!  We are fair and try to work with everybody.  We cannot refund the PayPal credit card processing fee because PP does not refund us.
8. After checking in at the Crystal Stage, every tour (Day or Night) begins with a walk to the “Event Site” or “epicenter” where all the phenomena began! The walk is about 600 feet on a dirt and gravel road at a slight grade.
9. Persons with limited mobility may drive their vehicles.  Call us for details! All vehicles must adhere to 5 mph speed limit and watch for foot traffic.
10. You must stay with the group on the trail at all times! Anyone wandering off and not respecting this rule will be asked to leave immediately or referred to the county sheriff.
11. Crystals lying on the ground during the walk are NOT for sale! Please do not pick them up! We want to leave the area in the natural way in which it was found.
12. Board Camp Crystal Mine crystals and crystal jewelry are sold on site at our Crystal Shop!
13. The remainder of the tour will be held at the covered Crystal Stage, and consists of viewing more amazing images and videos from the Murphys’ cameras, plus a Q&A and sharing time with the Murphys.
14. At this point, the Day Tour is concluded. The Night Watch begins on the Crystal Stage.  You may watch from the stage, unless you wish to travel back up to the Event Site to sit after dark during the Night Watch Tour!  We will escort you.
15. Phenomenon manifests at any location on the property, day or night. It doesn’t seem to matter where. Due to the unknown nature of the phenomenon, no one knows what to expect.  Visitors may experience something startling during the tour that makes them feel uneasy. Visitors are welcome to leave the tour anytime.  Please inform staff quietly and you will be escorted to your vehicle.  Please don’t interfere with others’ experience.
16. You may take your own photos and videos for personal use.
17. There is no guarantee of the phenomena manifesting while you’re here.  This is not something you turn on and off like a switch! But 75-80% of our guests have experienced SOMETHING… sight, sound, feeling!  We will all learn as we share with each other about the strange phenomena!
18. ‘We want to hear YOUR story! We have found that most visitors who attend a tour have experienced something unexplained in their own lives! We look forward to meeting you!

All Visitors are required to read these regulations and to sign a waiver of liability.

• I am at least 18 years of age. No one under age 10 is permitted on Day Tours.  No one under age 18 is permitted on Night Watch Tours.  No pets permitted except for service animals.
• In whatever manner I am participating, whether as a guest, visitor, volunteer, participant, etc., I enter the property at my own risk, and assume full responsibility for the welfare and safety of myself, those in my party, my vehicle, and all personal possessions.
• I do not need to participate in any activity I feel uncomfortable with and I may leave the premises any time, however, there is no refund due after the first 20 minutes.
• There is no guarantee I, or my group, will experience phenomena during the tour.
• Due to the unknown source of the phenomena, and possible unknown danger, I assume full responsibility and liability for my health, safety, and welfare, to include any sickness, discomfort, injury, disappearance, or death, that may occur to me and/or those in my party, due to visiting the premises.
• I will abide by the speed limit of 5 mph while driving on the premises’ roads.
• Whether in vehicle or on foot, I, and those in my party, will stay within the parameters
• There is NO smoking on the property except in designated smoking areas.
• Neither I, nor those in my party, may consume alcohol, drugs, or medical marijuana while visiting.
• If I, or anyone in my party, behave in a discourteous or disruptive manner, while visiting, or appear intoxicated upon arrival, I, and my party, may be asked to leave upon management’s discretion, with no refund due, and/or sheriff may be called.
• If emergency or other services are contacted in a situation related to me or anyone in my party, I agree to assume full responsibility for any charges or fees.
• I agree that photos of me or those in my party, or comments made, referring to my visit, may be used on the business’s website and social media accounts.
• I will not take photos or videos during the media presentation. I may take and share my own photos, videos and/or testimony, of my experiences at Board Camp Crystal Mine, but I will not use them for financial gain.
• Rocks/crystals found on the ground may NOT be picked up.  The Native people blessed the land and told us the land is sacred. Crystals on the ground during the tour and in the Event Site area are not to be disturbed out of respect.  Thank you for understanding.
• I hereby release, hold harmless, and indemnify Orville and/or Cheryl Murphy, Board Camp Campground LLC, Board Camp Crystal Mine, and any and all associates, representatives, assignees, and heirs from all liabilities, today and in the future.
